The Motu app for Runners
Coming soon to the App Store and Google Play.
EU Platform Work Directive
Designed for compliance from day one.
The Platform Work Directive applies from 2 December 2026. It sets rules for how software organises the work of people who deliver through platforms, the self-employed included. Motu is built around those rules.
Directive (EU) 2024/2831
Runners choose
Orders are offered, never assigned. Declining is free and never counted.
Published prices
Every price follows a rule the Fleet publishes, and shows its breakdown.
People decide
No scores that rank Runners, no automated penalties. Account decisions are made by a person, with a written reason.
Clear rules, minimal data
Runners can read how orders reach them. Location is used only while taking or carrying an order.
One system for the whole order.
Merchants send orders to a Fleet, the Runners who work with that Fleet take them in the Motu app, and the Fleet’s team follows every order in the Fleet panel.
Fleet panel
For the Fleet’s team, in the browser: every order live, chat with Runners and Merchants, prices, invoices and reports.
Runner app
For Runners, on iPhone and Android: open orders, step-by-step delivery, earnings and weekly invoices.
Merchant API
For shops, restaurants and delivery platforms: send orders to a Fleet and follow each one to the hand-over.
Questions
What is Motu?
Software for delivery fleets that work with self-employed Runners. Merchants send orders to a Fleet through the Merchant API, Runners take them in the Motu app, and the Fleet’s team follows every order in the Fleet panel.
Is Motu a delivery company?
No. Motu is software. It doesn’t employ Runners, carry orders or handle the money a Fleet pays its Runners.
How does Motu help with the EU Platform Work Directive?
Orders are offered to Runners, who can decline them at no cost. Prices follow rules the Fleet publishes. No score ranks or filters Runners, and no system suspends or penalises anyone automatically. Location is used only while taking or carrying an order, and Runners can read in the app how orders reach them.
Who pays the Runners?
The Fleet. Motu prepares each Runner’s weekly invoice on their behalf, and the Fleet pays them directly. Motu never holds the money.
Where is the data stored?
In the European Union, on Amazon Web Services in Ireland. The privacy policy lists what Motu processes and for how long.
